Here for the people of Stoke Poges and beyond
Stoke Poges United Charity
Grants for people suffering hardship or distress in the village of Stoke Poges and the adjoining parts of Slough.
Charity no: 205289
About the Charity
Small grants, quietly given
The Stoke Poges United Charity exists to help people suffering hardship or distress, or who are otherwise in need. Grants can be given to individuals, or to organisations set up to help groups of people, and are usually fulfilled by providing goods, services or facilities.
The Charity descends from the parish's old "United Charities" — small bequests for the poor of Stoke Poges, some dating back to the seventeenth century, brought together under a single scheme in 1906. Read the history.
Who we can help
The village and adjoining Slough
Help is restricted to people living in Stoke Poges, plus the parts of Slough adjoining the village — north of the Bath Road (A4), east of Farnham Road and west of Uxbridge Road, including Manor Park, Stoke Wards, Upton Lea and Wexham Court.
In exceptional circumstances the Charity may assist someone living outside this area, or someone only temporarily resident within it.

How to apply
Every application is considered, confidentially
To apply for help, contact the trustees using the details below and ask for an application form — or apply through the charities' website. Your application will be considered confidentially by the trustees, one of whom will contact you. It can take a few weeks to reach a decision — but if there is urgency, the trustees will respond as quickly as they can.
Trustees try to grant each request in full or in part; decisions are governed by the Charity's objects, policy and available funds, and the trustees' decisions are final.
