About the Fund
A village fund with deep roots
The Fund was formed in 2011 by bringing together two older village charities — the Lord Hastings Hospital Trust, founded on the hospital and almshouse established at Stoke Poges by Lord Hastings in 1557, and the Stoke Poges Relief in Need charity, created from the proceeds of the old poor's fuel allotment at Stoke Common. It is governed by a board of trustees who all have an interest in the village — drawn from the parish council, local residents, religious leaders and the health sector.

People in need in the parish
The Fund's income is used to help those "in need" in the parish of Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire. Help can go to individuals, families or groups, and can pay for items, services or facilities.
- A grant will have no impact on any benefits you receive;
- Funds can be available with little delay if necessary;
- Applications are treated in confidence.
How we can help
Examples of grants
- New equipment for the kitchen, or essential furniture;
- A contribution towards the cost of non-university courses;
- Help to clear debts;
- Grants towards stair lifts, wheelchairs and other items to aid independence;
- School uniforms;
- Breaks for carers.

The trustees will consider your application on its merits against the terms of the Fund, and one or two trustees may visit you to clarify your application and ensure your needs are met.
